A Study on Awareness and Satisfaction Level of Major with College Students in the Occupational Therapy

Abstract
Objectives : The purpose of this study was to analyze the correlation between general characteristics and major awareness and major satisfaction levels of students majoring in occupational therapy.

Methods : A survey was provided to 200 students enrolled in the Occupational therapy from three 3-year colleges in Kyongbuk area. The collected data was analyzed by the SPSS 18.0 statistical program. General characteristics of the subjects was conducted to analyse the frequency. major awareness and satisfaction was analyzed by t-test and the F test(ANOVA) and the Scheffe post-black was used. All statistical significance level was to p = .05.

Results : Major awareness was not differ according to gender, but major satisfaction differed by boys(p<.01). Major satisfaction was differed significantly by experience as volunteer and practicum( p<.05). Also the correlation between major awareness and satisfaction was a positive correlation(r=.725, p=.000). While major awareness and satisfaction, age wasn`t found statistically significant difference.

Conclusion : As a result of this study, high correlation between major awareness and satisfaction have found and major awareness can be seen that two closely related to volunteer experience.
